2024 Consumer Confidence Report

An electronic copy of our 2024 Consumer Confidence Report is available here.

The Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) is an annual water quality report issued by Grizzly Flats Community Services District as required by the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA).  The purpose of the CCR is to inform you of the quality of your drinking water.  In previous years, GFCSD has mailed its customers a printed copy of the CCR.  State Water Resources Control Board has expanded its interpretation of the SDWA to allow for electronic delivery of the report.  This allows GFCSD to reduce paper consumption and minimize printing costs.

Lead Service Line Inventory Overview

The Grizzly Flats CSD is committed to providing safe drinking water to all its customers by following all Federal and State regulations. The State Water Resource Control Board, in alignment with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA), enforces the Lead and Copper Rule (LCR). The US EPA recently made changes to the LCR with the Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (LCRR) to ensure public water systems are reducing lead exposure to their customers by requiring all public water purveyors to complete a Lead Service Line Inventory (LSL Inventory). The objective of the LSL Inventory is to determine if there are any lead pipes in the water distribution system on both the public and customer (private) portions. The initial inventory was completed and submitted by October 16, 2024, but not all service line compositions were known.

What is a Water Service Line?

The water service line is the pipe infrastructure that supplies water from the District’s main to the customer’s residence. This line begins at the main connection and connects to the building inlet. The District operates and maintains the pipe from the main up to and including the water meter. The customer’s responsibility begins after the water meter and all the pipe downstream going towards the home. These water service lines can be made up of several materials such as lead, galvanized steel, copper, or polyvinyl chloride (PVC).

Project Details

Grizzly Flats Community Services District (GFCSD) has records of our water system and has certified that no lead is present within our water distribution lines. However, we do not have information about the customer-owned portion of the water service connection. After reviewing available records, many customer service line materials remain unknown.

The District would really appreciate your help in identifying your water service line composition by recording the following information at the water heater, nearest spigot, or hose bib:

  • Service address: _____________________________________________________________
  • Type of material (copper, galvanized steel, lead, PVC, etc.): ____________________
  • Size of the piping: ____________________________________________________________
  • Year of home construction or service line installation: _________________________

Reporting Service Line Data

To report information about your personal water service line you can complete and return the highlighted information on the notice which was distributed with your October 31, 2024 water statement, or email the data requested above to gfcsdjessi@gmail.com.
